In order for visitors to your site to be able to see an uploaded file, you will need to make that file available online to them in some way. In this post, you will learn how to add your file or files to the internet and link to them from a page or post on your site so they can easily click on a link or a button to view the uploaded file.

- Upload your file to your website’s Media Library
- Copy the URL for your file to use for your hyperlink or button URL.
- Paste the file’s URL into the field for the link/button you are creating.
- Rinse and repeat as needed.
Detailed Steps
1. Upload your file to your website’s Media Library
In the Dashboard menu, hover over the Media option and choose “Library”. At the top of the page, there is a an “Add New” button you can click on to upload one or multiple files to your Media Library.
2. Copy the File URL for your file to use for your hyperlink or button URL.
Once file is uploaded, it will have a “File URL” available. Click on the file to see its settings and the File’s URL will be visible on the right-side panel, which you can copy by highlighting the whole URL or you can click on the button to “Copy URL to Clipboard”.
3. Paste the file’s URL into the field for the link/button you are creating.
Navigate to your page and block where you want to add or update the file’s URL. For a text hyperlink, highlight the text, then select the Chainlink icon at the top of the editor, and paste in the URL you copied into the field that appears. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard or select the blue arrow icon to the right of area you pasted the link and this will create the hyperlinked text in the editor. For a block with a button, there would be a URL field present in the right-side panel where you can paste the file’s URL.
4. Rinse and repeat as needed.
Perform steps 2 and 3 as needed for each link. Click the Update button to save your changed. Remember to test your links!
