To help make your transition to Mailster easier. We suggest following these steps before you begin using the new platform:
1. Export subscribers and lists from MailPoet
MailPoet allows you to export your subscribers and lists from your site so that you can create a back-up of the information. To export your subscribers:
- Click on MailPoet in the Dashboard menu
- Select Subscribers from the options in the Dashboard menu
- Click on the Export button at the top of the page.
- Select the lists and fields you want to download.
- Click the Export button
On the page that loads click on the link in the yellow box to download your subscriber list information.
2. Note and record previous newsletter statistics and content.
MailPoet does not provide a way for you to record the analytics from your previous newsletters as a back-up. So, you will need to manually do this if you are concerned with keeping record of your statistics.
We suggest recording the following information for your records:
- Newsletter title (subject line)
- Sent on date
- Lists sent to
- Number of subscribers sent to
- Open Rate
- Top Links and the Total Clicks for each link.
Then you’ll want to archive the content of your MailPoet newsletters. The easiest manner for this is to save the web version of the newsletter as a PDF that you can upload to your Media Library and post on your website. To save your newsletter as a PDF, follow these steps:
- Open your MailPoet newsletter’s web version by going to the MailPoet option in the Dashboard menu, hover your mouse over the title, and select the “Preview” option from the menu that appears below the title. This will open the web version of the newsletter.
- Through your browser’s options, choose to “Print” the web page and in the destination setting choose the option to “Save as/to PDF”.
- Save the file in an easy to retrieve location on your computer.
- Repeat steps 1-3 for each newsletter until you have them all saved.
