Metrics in Google Analytics 4

What do these new metrics in Google Analytics 4 mean?

Below is a list of the default metrics in a Pages and Screens report to help define some of this information for you:

  • Views – the number of times a page on the site is viewed.
  • Users – The number of individuals that visit the page and are considered “active” on it.
  • Views per user – the average number of views of the page per user.
  • Average Engagement Time – the average amount of time a user is engaged on the page, which would be something like interacting with the page, or completing a form.
  • Event Count – the number of times users triggered an event. Events are a way that analytics are tracked and can include clicking on something like a link.
